Team Member uses Go Hilton for Trip of a Lifetime

When my husband and I first started planning our family vacation, I had originally wanted to go to Scotland. However, once we started researching, we realized we could see some really cool spots in our own backyard – space shuttles at NASA for my son, historic underground tunnels in Baton Rouge, a jazz trio in New Orleans– and all within walking distance from a Hilton property.

15 days, 14 nights, 11 Hilton brands, seven states, and one road trip across the southeastern U.S.  Oh yeah, and a different hotel Every. Single. Night. And the kicker…all with an almost-four-year-old and an almost-one-year-old. Sound like fun? (Spoiler alert: it actually was, and we would do it all again!) Keep reading to learn my top three takeaways from my two-week vacation using my Hilton Team Member Go Hilton Perks!

1. Our Hilton Team Members made all the difference! I cannot express how impressed I was with the Hilton Team Members I came across. They didn’t know who I was or that I worked for Hilton, but people went above and beyond to help us. Helen at the Baton Rouge Hilton knew that my road-weary son might want some strawberries and brought them on out without us asking (I guess we looked like we needed help!). Toni at the DoubleTree in Biloxi made everyone’s day by handing out those delicious DoubleTree chocolate chip cookies. And I can’t forget TaLandria at the Embassy Suites in Montgomery who went above and beyond to make my children smile. I could not be prouder of the light and warmth that exuded from my teammates!

2. I love all of the Hilton brands — because each one is different! 

I have now tried 14 of the 17 Hilton brands and I can say that I really do love each of our brands. From the funky walls of the Tru to the amazing Hampton waffles and gourmet coffee; from the abundant space of the Homewood and the happy hour of Embassy to the grand sophistication of the Waldorf and the sleek lines of the Conrad. There’s so much to explore!

Throughout the trip, I gravitated towards the funky hotels with major character, such as the Canopy Atlanta and their artisan jellies and the Curio Admiral Hotel Mobile with their bee hives on the roof making honey for the cookies we got at check-in. One of my absolute favs…the American in Atlanta, a Doubletree hotel. Oh, the history! Elvis Presley, James Brown and Hank Aaron all stayed in the same room we did! Out of 5,000 hotels, you can’t go wrong!

3. Hilton is a company that cares.

Hilton really, truly, deeply cares about the Team Members and wants us to live incredible lives outside of the office. I started with Hilton in January 2018 as Director of Marketing Project Management. While I love my job, I also love that I’m encouraged to take time away from the office. We’re encouraged to explore the world and take our friends and family along for the journey. My family bonded like nobody’s business because we had the time to do so. Thrive is more than corporate program- Hilton really wants what’s best for the Team Members. So, thank you, Hilton, for a gift my family will never be able to repay.
